Privacy policy
Data controller
The site publisher, contactable at: support@nocturya.com.
Data collected and purposes
Account: username, email address, password stored in hashed form, country, age, sex and languages spoken. This data is used to create and secure your account, operate the correspondence service and restrict it to adults.
Profile and content: depending on the features you use, Nocturya processes the information on your card, your profile photo, the photos and comments in your album, your private messages and any images they contain, your photos and messages in the Milky Way, your posts in “Under the stars”, as well as your conversations with support. This data is used to display your profile, transmit and retain your exchanges, and provide the spaces in which you participate.
Security and moderation: IP addresses and session information, blocks, reports, reported content and moderation measures. This data is used to prevent abuse, handle reports, protect members and secure the service.
No data is sold, rented or shared with third parties for commercial purposes. No advertising profiling is performed.
Legal basis and retention
Processing is based on the performance of the requested service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and on the legitimate interest in securing the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Account data is retained for as long as the account remains active. If you request its deletion, the account is deactivated immediately and can be restored for 30 days only by using the personal link sent by email. At the end of this period, all data concerning you is erased: identity, email address, profile, photo, album, sky notebook, profile answers, username history, photos and messages in the Milky Way, posts in “Under the stars”, as well as the text of your private messages. Conversations remain in your correspondents' mail, but your messages are no longer readable there and your account appears under the name “Faded star”.
Elements you produced for the service or for other members are retained: your translation suggestions, which form part of the site's texts, the reports you filed and, if you held a moderation role, the measures you issued. These elements no longer contain any data that identifies you.
An account that remains inactive for 2 years is deleted under the same conditions, after a warning email sent 30 days before the deadline; in this case, logging in before the deadline cancels the procedure. IP addresses are retained for no more than 12 months. A removed profile or album photo is no longer visible on the site, but may remain accessible to the administrator for 30 days for security and evidential purposes before permanent deletion. Content and information connected with a report may be retained for as long as required to process it and defend Nocturya's rights. A photo posted in the Milky Way stays visible for 30 days after it is posted, then it is deleted along with the messages written under it.
The message you send us from "Write to us" is not kept on the site: it leaves by email to our mailbox, where it stays for as long as it takes to answer you.
