Child safety: the Nocturya standards

An absolute ban on child sexual abuse

We prohibit, without exception, ALL content and ALL behaviour relating to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This includes:

• child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form;
• sexual words, images or innuendo involving a minor;
• soliciting a minor for sexual purposes, including gaining their trust step by step (grooming);
• blackmail with intimate photos aimed at a minor (sextortion);
• any attempt to put an adult in contact with a minor for those purposes.

An account responsible for such acts is banned immediately and permanently, and reported to the competent authorities. There is no warning, no second chance, no exception. This is article 3 of the sky charter, which every member accepts when signing up.

A service for people aged eighteen and over

Nocturya is for people aged eighteen and over. Below that age, sign-up is refused. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, it is closed. If you think the person you write to is a minor, stop the exchange and report them.

Reporting, in the app as on the website

Every letter, every message in a public space, every photo, every album comment and every star card can be reported in two taps, from the app as from the website. You can also block someone without them being told.

Reports are read by the site's administrators and moderation team. Depending on how serious it is, penalties range from a warning to a permanent ban. As soon as we become aware of child sexual abuse material, it is removed, the account is permanently banned, and the facts are reported to the competent authorities.

You can also report illegal content directly to the authorities. The NCMEC receives reports at report.cybertip.org, from the United States and from many other countries. Elsewhere, inhope.org lists the reporting hotlines country by country.
