Anonymous pen pal
In the past, finding a pen pal meant trusting a stranger with your address. Nocturya keeps the pleasure of the letter, the wait and the surprise, without requiring you to reveal your address, email or real name. You write; chance finds the person.
A pen pal on Nocturya
Your first letter is delivered to one person only, chosen at random from the available members. It can contain up to two thousand characters and is not published in a feed. One person opens it, reads it and freely decides whether to reply.
You do not choose a profile
When sending, you can specify the recipient's sex and age range, but not their country, language or identity. You do not know who will receive your letter, and the draw will not send you to the same person twice. The meeting therefore begins with words, not a profile photo.
When a correspondence begins
The person who receives your letter may reply, or they may not. Their first reply opens a private thread between you. You then take turns writing. Letter by letter, a stranger can become a true pen pal.
Anonymous, with a profile you control
Other members know you by a username. Your card shows your country and age, followed only by what you choose to add: an introduction, languages, short answers, a mood, a profile photo or an album. Photos are optional, and each album photo has its own visibility settings. Your email address remains private.
A letter that really travels
Here, a letter does not appear with a click. It leaves like a shooting star and travels at thirty kilometres per second. The journey time depends on the distance between your countries and the wind randomly selected at departure. You follow the journey in your sky; elsewhere, the other person sees a star approaching.
Abroad or nearby
Nocturya is available in eleven languages, but it does not translate letters automatically. Your pen pal may live in the neighbouring country, on the other side of the world or close to you, and may write in your language or their own. The languages shown on their card can help you understand one another after you meet.
For adults, under a watched-over sky
Nocturya is for people aged eighteen or over. Everyone accepts the same charter. You can report content or a profile and block someone without notifying them. A correspondence is only worthwhile if you can feel safe in it.
All it takes to meet a pen pal is a first letter: write it, entrust it to the sky, and let chance choose who will receive it.
